If you are passionate about football and passionate about Reading FC then join us at STAR.
STAR (Supporters Trust At Reading) is a non-profit Supporters’ Trust set up in March 2002 by Reading FC supporters for Reading FC supporters.
Why not join STAR?
STAR was born out of Reading Football Supporter’s Club (which was established in 1930) and we have carried on the core activities of RFSC and considerably expanded these with the extra powers gained as a Supporters’ Trust. Without a strong and vibrant membership we would not be able to carry out these activities. A strong Trust is good for the Football Club, good for the community and good for the supporters of Reading FC.
Each Trust Member owns a £1 nominal share in the Trust, and each eligible member has the right to stand for election to the Trust Board, to vote in the election of Trust Board representatives and to attend the AGM. (NB Under Trust rules, members must be aged 16 or over to vote – therefore members under this age join as 'affiliated members' and are not eligible to vote or stand for Board membership).
Benefits of STAR membership include:
Representation: STAR is a democratically accountable, community-minded non-profit making supporters’ organisation dedicated to representing the views of Reading fans to the Football Club, football governing bodies authorities, the media and the local community. The more members we have, the louder our collective voice is!
Fans’ Forums: Free entry to members-only Question and Answer evenings with key RFC people – players, management and other staff. Fans’ Forums are held throughout the season.
Royalty Points/MegaStore Discount: STAR members receive 10 “Royalty Points” allowing higher priority to big-games and scarce tickets, as well as a voucher for 10% Off at the Megastore (2014-15 season subject to renewal of agreement with RFC. Discount voucher only valid for personal visit at Megastore and not for purchases online)
Away Travel: STAR runs subsidised coaches to all away games, exclusively for STAR members. For those wishing to travel independently and meet up with others there is free matchday parking at Welcombe Break services for matches (Home or Away). You can download the information on the Welcome Break parking here. The parking permit can be downloaded here.
Newsletters: The free members’ newsletter, “Reading Matter” is available online or sent to STAR members three times a year, as well as regular e-mail updates through our electronic news service E-STAR.
Social Events: We organise several social events including Quiz Nights, History evenings and the occasional football match against other supporters’ teams!
Joining STAR is simple and straightforward!
The STAR membership year runs from 1st July to 30th June each year to mirror the football season.
