At last, the Govt has published its White Paper on football governance. STAR welcomes this paper. First impressions are positive. The central recommendation of the Fan Led Review – the creation of an independent regulator – has been endorsed.
STAR contributed to the Football Supporters Association (FSA) submission to the Fan Led Review in 2022 and we’re delighted its main recommendations feature in the White Paper. This is good for supporters and for the game.
Over the next 3 months there will be a consultation period when various parties will argue over the detail. STAR will be following this every step of the way! We hope that legislation to cement the recommendations will happen next year.
