A dozen or so things to know about travelling away with STAR
- We travel hi-spec excursion coaches with mandatory seat-belts
- We have Stadium and town centre pick-up and drop-off points
- Individual travel tickets issued with full pick-up details
- Toilet available on all regularly-used coaches
- Motorway service station comfort break of about 45 minute on outward leg – except for short journeys
- Space on coach to store your Thermos flask, maths homework or embroidery while the game is on
- Two DBS-checked stewards on each coach
- Absolutely, strictly, no alcohol on board
- Under 14s must travel with parent / responsible adult
- 14-17 year-olds can travel unaccompanied by an adult provided we have a signed parental consent form
- 14-17 year olds must be picked up / dropped off at the stadium only – not town centre
- There’s a collection for the driver
OUR USUAL PRACTICE*
- FREE and easy parking at Madstad before your journey
- We drop off outside / close to away club turnstiles when permitted by the host club
- We usually arrive an hour before kick-off
- Typically about 1/3 of our travellers are women or under 18s
- * There may be occasional exceptions to this practice
YOUR STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
- Join STAR—£10 Adults, £5 under 18s and 65+s
- Find travel details on website, social media
- Book at STAR Base, opp Gate 7 – open match days and Tuesdays 7.30-9pm or online (at least 14 days in advance) at www.star-reading.org
- Arrive at pick-up point at least 15 minutes before departure time
- Board coach – it’s unreserved seats and we ask you occupy the same seat on outward and return journeys
- Cheer on the mighty Reading
