HALL OF FAME – IT’S ON THE WAY!

Sunday 21st March 2021 7:30pm – online event, free, all welcome
Broadcast exclusively via Reading FC social media channels

STAR’s Reading FC Hall of Fame is in its fifth year. It’s an evening of celebration of the club’s history during which 25 new names are inducted (or entered) into the Hall of Fame. The event takes the form of a presentation – with goal action, photos and brief biographies – compered by STAR’s Roger Titford and Paul Allen, former PA man at the Madejski.
You’re invited to go online and re-live some of the epic moments of Reading’s history – and enjoy a few words from some of the new inductees – on Sunday 21st March at 7.30pm. Full vent viewing details available soon.
We would have loved to do this event live at the Madejski Stadium – as we have since 2016 and as we planned to do on 23 March 2020 – but you-know-what got in the way – and we don’t want to delay any longer so we’ve gone online.

As always Hall of Fame takes the long view of the club’s history with awards going to characters from each of the club’s 15 decades. The first award goes to a man who probably played in our first ever game in 1872, sadly no longer with us, and the last to someone who still very much with us indeed.

In between we honour 13 players with 20 promotions between them, a player who won Serie A and La Liga as manager, a forward who saw Reading win two Third Division titles 60 years apart, two first class cricketers (!), a schoolmaster who hit over 50 goals in only 40 games, stars from the Southern League to the Premier League, the keeper who saved most penalties and the player who scored most penalties, the best ever local boy, our greatest goal-scorer and national record-breakers galore.

The event is completely free and available to any Reading supporter, STAR member or otherwise. It’s a once a year occasion – please do join and support our stars – and see for yourself who’s new in STAR’s Reading FC Hall of Fame.
