Join the Conversation: Empowering Disabled Reading FC Fans through a Collaborative Working Group
Dear Reading FC Supporters,
We would like to invite supporters of the Reading FC family who are keen to amplify disabled supporters’ voices and enhance the matchday experience for everyone, to join us in a new initiative.
Reading Football Club, in collaboration with the Supporters Trust At Reading (STAR), is establishing a dedicated working group. And we want you to be an integral part of it.
Why Your Voice Matters:
Inclusivity lies at the heart of a thriving football community, and all fans deserve to have their voices heard. The creation of this working group is a testament to our commitment to ensuring that the matchday experience is accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
By actively involving disabled fans in decision-making, we can gain invaluable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities that impact your experience. This collaborative effort is not just about making changes; it is about creating an environment where every fan feels valued, heard, and included.
What to Expect:
The working group will serve as a platform for open dialogue and constructive discussions. Together, we will explore ways to enhance accessibility, improve facilities, and address any barriers that may exist for disabled fans.
Your input will directly contribute to shaping policies, initiatives, and improvements that reflect the diverse needs of our fanbase.
Beyond matchday experiences, the working group will also focus on fostering a sense of community and belonging. We envision this as an opportunity for fans to connect, share their experiences, and build a support network that extends beyond the stadium and, if wanted, the possibility of setting up an independent Disabled Supporters’ Association.
How to Get Involved:
If you are passionate about making a difference, we would love to hear from you.
To express your interest and become a part of the working group, please contact simon.day@star-reading.org by 29th February 2024. We will get back to everyone that responds in early March with the next steps.
Your voice matters, and we are excited to embark on this journey together toward a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all Reading FC supporters.
